In an effort to conserve resources, we’re always looking for ways to “green up” our studio.  At this time, we:

• Buy U.S. sourced materials in pallet quantities to reduce transportation requirements
• Fire at the low end of the stoneware temperature range to reduce electricity usage
• Ban the use of lead in our glazes
• Use recycled packaging as often as possible
• Recycle all our raw clay and glazes
• Downcycle our fired tiles to local mosaic artists

We’ve just developed a luscious group of buttery satin matt glazes in colors that compliment natural slate but we know they’ll also look great without the stone.  Can’t wait to use them!

Some time back, we were asked to make green tiles with a fern theme to be given as wedding favors.  So we created these and surprised the bride and groom by stamping their names and wedding date on the back.
